Als je het over mensen hebt, gebruik je who:
- My grandpa, who is 76 years old, stole a car.
- I’m talking about the children who play outside.
Als je het over dieren of dingen hebt, gebruik je which:
- This building, which is 234 feet tall, is worth millions.
- That’s the cat which ate all the food.
In plaats van who en which mag je ook (bijna) altijd that gebruiken, maar niet na een komma:
- I’m talking about the children that play outside.
- That’s the cat that ate all the food.
